Quiet Intrlude
Is an interactive art installation, it tucks away the artwork above and parallel to the ceiling, when the rope is pulled down, the artwork descends slowly close in front of the person. When released the artwork retracts slowly to the safety of the ceiling.
From Static to Responsive
The quiet interlude transforms the rigid gallery space to a stage where people can affect the space, the experience becomes more of a dialogue between the space and the visitor negotiating with the artworks.
Mechanism
A combination of pullies tracks and counterweights suspended from the ceiling achieves an almost invisible presence to help make the experience even more seamless throughout the gallery.
Quiet Interlude
Breaks a part a space that is very rigid and static in nature and provides an opportunity to explore new levels of the space, as well as enhancing the experience of observing art in general, while being itself an ephemeral intervention.
